Betting: Is Tua to win MVP a smart play?

Minty Bets, Ariel Epstein and Mark DrumHeller look at the best futures on the board as we hit the stretch run of the 2022 NFL season.

MINTY BETS: We're entering week 13 of the NFL season. And there is still a ton to bet on. I'm Minty Bets joined by Ariel Epstein and Mark DrumHeller. And we're here to give you our favorite NFL future picks that we believe still hold the best value at the moment Ariel, why don't you kick us off with your best future?

ARIEL EPSTEIN: My favorite future is bet that's not including a favorite in the futures market, Bills' quarterback Josh Allen at 10 to 1 to win MVP. Now, this is a Buffalo Bills team that was one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl preseason. Allen has great value considering the Bills are still favorites to win the AFC East.

Now, how come you have a quarterback at 10 to 1 with longer odds than Miami's quarterback Tua Tagovailoa when the Bills are favored to win the division? The value for the Buffalo Bills is on their quarterback right now. Now, the Bills schedule is tougher than Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

However, Allen is a dual threat quarterback who could run with the football and throw the football well. There was concern with the throwing arm for Allen as it is a bit banged up. However, I still believe that Allen, because of his ability to run with the football and throw the football well and have such threads at wide receiver like Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis that the Bills are really going to have to rely heavily on Allen to make this playoff push to get that first round bye.

If the Bills win the division, get a first round bye, Josh Allen deserves winning this award for the first time as opposed to Mahomes winning it again. There's nothing that's really stood out to me about Mahomes, except him being Patrick Mahomes. All right, let's give it to someone new, Josh Allen, 10 to 1, the best odds on the Bills right now in the futures market, Minty.

MINTY BETS: Ariel, I like your pick because Josh Allen was my preseason MVP pick. But I'm going to butt heads with you here. I'm going to go with an MVP as well. And yeah, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts are the obvious picks, but I'm going to go with Tua Tagovailoa at plus 500.

He currently has the best QBR and passer rating in the league. He's top five in pass completions, passing touchdowns, and passing yards per game. And he's only got three interceptions on the season, not to mention he's got two of the best receivers in the league at his disposal, which will only help his numbers. I like the Dolphins as my sleeper pick to make it far in the postseason. So it only makes sense that I go with their quarterback for MVP. Mark, what do you have for us?

MARK DRUMHELLER: Now that they've caught the Ravens in the standings. I really like the Cincinnati Bengals to win the AFC North of plus 210. The injuries continue to pile up for the Ravens while the defense struggles to close out games. The Bengals, they seem to be getting healthy at just the right time. After an 0 and 2 start, they've been 7 and 2 and won five of their last six games without superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

Now they're in prime position to make a run as Joe Burrow's favorite target returns to the lineup. Sure, the Bengals have one of the toughest remaining schedules. But Joe Burrow has proved that he can win big games at this time of the year. He outdueled Patrick Mahomes twice last season during their playoff run to the Super Bowl. Winter is coming. And I think it's time to back Joe Burrow. Give me the Bengals, plus 210.

MINTY BETS: To recap our picks, Ariel likes Josh Allen as MVP. I'm going with Tua to win MVP, and Mark has the Bengals to win the AFC North. Bet $10 and win $200 when you wager on any event.
