PAM MALDONADO: Happy Wednesday, Yahoo Sportsbook. I'm Pam Maldonado here to satisfy your degenerate thirst for Wednesday MACtion. We have two games on deck for Wednesday, looking first to Central Michigan Chippewas, a 4 and 1/2 point road dog traveling over to face the Northern Illinois Huskies. The total for this game is 56. The play to make, over 56.

Central Michigan has played a really tough schedule of opponents on the road this season, facing Oklahoma State, Penn State, and Toledo. The question is, which quarterback are we going to see behind center for Central Michigan? Starter Daniel Richardson was benched last week against Bowling Green for backup Jase Bauer. In either case, NIU is bottom 30 in passing yards allowed, bottom 10 in opponent in yards per pass attempt.

At home, the Huskies have allowed 8 YPA to FCS squad in Eastern Illinois, 9 YPA to Vanderbilt. And against Toledo, 9 YPA on just 21 total passing attempts. All while giving up at least 27 total points. What helps with overs also is the pace of play. The Chippewas is top 15 in plays per game, up there with high-scoring teams like UCF, SMU, and Oklahoma State.

The second matchup for Wednesday is the Western Michigan Broncos as 4 and 1/2 point road dogs to the Bowling Green Falcons. The total for this game is 47. The play to make is Western Michigan, plus 4 and 1/2. The Falcons seem to have a home-field turnover problem with seven total turnovers in three of its four home games, resulting in 24 total points to its opponents.

Neither Western Michigan or Bowling Green offense is lighting up the scoreboard, so that means defense, that's the X factor. Both Broncos and Bowling Green defense are top 40 in opponent red-zone scoring percentage. So with points at a premium, and the home favorite having a tendency to turn the ball over, backing the home dog is the play to make. And don't forget to sprinkle that plus 175 moneyline. I would also lean to the under, but we know that taking an under in mid-week MACtion is not for the faint of heart.

So to recap, Central Michigan at NIU, over 56. Western Michigan plus 4 and 1/2 at Bowling Green.
