Minty Bets and Ariel Epstein break down which MLB teams are trending up and which are trending down, and how that affects their outlooks on futures bets.

MINTY BETS: I'm Minty Bets, and joining me is Ariel Epstein, and we are introducing to you a new segment here on Mad Bets called MLB Stock Up/Stock Down, where we tell you who are loving this week and who were not that impressed with this week. Ariel, let's start things off with you. Who are you stocking up on?
ARIEL EPSTEIN: I'm stocking up on the Tampa Bay Rays, especially, to win the American League East Division at 6 to 1. The other two teams in front of them are the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays who are shorter than 2 to 1 right now. It's a great time to buy in on Tampa. This team, statistically, they are still top 10 when it comes to batting average, OPS with runners in scoring position. The Rays have a top 10 team era top 10 bullpen ERA. Everything shows that this Rays team is still just as well balanced as they were, when they were making World Series pitches the last five years.
I love their manager, Kevin Cash as well. He knows how to manage these games, in a way, that just makes it like a football game. Don't just sit there and look to all the old school Major League Baseball pitchers that have to go seven innings. The Tampa Bay Rays, they have a ton of depth when it comes to their rotation. They could take starting pitchers out and put some bullpen players in there, and they can still be successful. So I really like the depth of Tampa. Their playoff experience is there. Their lineup is still hitting well. Give me the Tampa Bay Rays at 6 to 1, great value to win the American League East.
MINTY BETS: I am into it. I've been hot the Tampa Bay Rays since the preseason, so I love that pick, Ariel. All right, my pick is a little obvious and a little square. I'm stocking up on the LA Dodgers to win the World Series. Now, they opened up at 5 to 1 to win it all. And we know they're a great team. They've won this thing before. And so far, they're boasting a great record at 18 and 7 straight up as we're filming this now. So you're telling me after all I've seen, I can still get them at plus 500? Yes, please. these are for the bettors that missed out on betting on the Dodgers to win the World Series preseason, so stock up on them now. You can still get them at plus 500. Ariel, who are you stocking down on?
ARIEL EPSTEIN: I'm stocking down on the Seattle Mariners. This is a team that last season looked really good down the stretch. They finished about one to two games out of the American League Wild Card race. It's a different story this year in their division, the American League West, because the Los Angeles Angels have looked good. In fact, they are the number one team in the American League West right now with the Houston Astros right behind them. I don't love that the Mariners bullpen has gotten worse.
The Mariners bullpen last year was the eighth best bullpen ERA in baseball. This season, they ranked 20th. The bullpen is what kept the Mariners in games late last season which is why I loved betting them at plus 1 and 1/2 home dog in Seattle last year on the run line. This year, it's not the same, too many injuries, the bullpen not as good, too strong of an American League between the American League East having three teams above 500. The Blue Jays, the Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays, they're all going to be in contention for the American League and nonetheless, for a playoff berth.
Then you look over to the American League Central, and you've got the Minnesota Twins, the Cleveland Guardians, and the Chicago White Sox all in the mix. Now you're going to throw on the American League West with the Houston Astros and LA Angels? The Seattle Mariners just aren't going to have enough room to make the playoffs. I'm fading the Mariners in the future's market by not betting them there. In addition, to when the numbers come out around the All-Star break, could be betting a no on the Mariners to make the playoffs, Minty.
MINTY BETS: OK. So earlier this preseason, I gave out the Atlanta Braves to win the NL East at plus 150, and I may be stocking down on them, because, honestly, the Mets look really good. And Philly doesn't look that bad either. They just have a really bad defense. But the Mets are top 5 and hitting, and they've got a strong rotation.
