- We've got to MLB games to preview for Sunday, July 25, starting with the Diamondbacks and Cubs. The Cubs are minus 190 and the total is 8.5. Starting for Arizona, we've got Caleb Smith. He's 3 and 6 with a 4.38 ERA, 88 strikeouts, and 39 walks. On the mound for Chicago, we've got Trevor Williams. He's 3 and 2 with a 5.68 ERA, 55 strikeouts and 22 walks.

These are two teams that seem to be declining. Although the Diamondbacks just swept the Pirates before coming into the series-- I mean, they beat the Pirates-- Arizona starts lefty Caleb Smith, and the Cubs bat at .245 with an OPS of .730 against left-handed pitchers, not super impressive. The Diamondbacks, however, don't do well against righties like Trevor Williams at all, ranking 23rd in the league in batting against right-handed pitchers and 29th in OPS.

It's an ugly match-up, and I think the Cubs will win, but that price is too high and I just don't trust them on the run line. I'll look to the under.

Next up, the Padres and Marlins. The Padres are minus 155 and the total is 6.5. On the mound for San Diego, we've got Yu Darvish. He's 7 and 4 with a 3.09 ERA, 128 strikeouts, and 26 walks. Starting from Miami, we've got Trevor Rogers. He's 7 and 6 with a 2.37 ERA, 125 strikeouts, and 37 walks.

This will be a great pitchers' duel. Yu Darvish has a road opponent batting average of .201, while Trevor Rogers has a home opponent batting average of only .197. Both of these offenses rank in the middle of the league against their respective pitchers. I'm sensing a low-scoring game here. I think pitching will be strong and offense won't be able to capitalize much. Let's go under.
