Betting: 2022 AFC West Best Bets

Frank Schwab gives his best bets for the four teams in the AFC West for the 2022 NFL Season.

FRANK SCHWAB: I'm Frank Schwab. And I'm here to give you my best bets for the AFC West this season. And we're going to start with the Kansas City Chiefs. Favored to win the division, but I'm going to go in a completely different direction and take George Karlaftis to win NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Karlaftis was a 30th pick of the draft. Big time pass rusher. He's going to be on the field a lot for this Chiefs defense. I think he could put up the sack numbers to impress voters. And in a wide open field that's not a great draft class, I think her Karlaftis could steal the Rookie of the Year and cash a really big ticket.

And next up, I'm moving to the Los Angeles Chargers. And there was a reason I didn't pick the Chiefs as my best bet to win the division, because that's going to be the Chargers.

First of all, I want to take them to win the Super Bowl. I've done this a lot. They've disappointed me. But my goodness, look at that roster. I'm taking them 16 to 1 to win the Super Bowl.

And then moving on, my best bet with the Chargers is for them to win the division about 2 and 1/2 to 1. This Chargers team absolutely loaded. Added a lot of pieces in the off-season. We all know Justin Herbert's a future star. I think this is the year the Chargers overtake the Chiefs in the AFC West.

Moving on to the next team in the AFC West. By the way, the Denver Broncos could win the AFC West. This is a great division. But I'm going to go with Russell Wilson to win MVP.

Famously, Russell has never even gotten an MVP vote, but that might change this year. After the trade with Seattle, he comes to a big high profile situation. A lot of players around him. I think Russell Wilson has a real shot to win MVP. He's a little bit further down the odds at about 14 to 1. And I like that price, because I think Russell Wilson could be a headliner all season in the NFL.

And we're going to finish up with the Las Vegas Raiders. I hate to do this to the Raiders because I like what they added in the off-season with Davante Adams, Chandler Jones. But I'm going to be picking them under eight and a half wins.

What they did last year was really no fluke. They were a good team. Made the playoffs. Almost beat the Bengals in the playoffs. But if you look at the rest of the AFC West, it is going to be a gauntlet. I do think the Raiders could even be in playoff contention most of the season. But I'm still going to have to take them to finish under 500 this year.
