The Best Ski-Inspired Gifts For the Home

This article originally appeared on Ski Mag

Many skiers are uber particular about their gear. While we love them dearly, finding the perfect holiday gift for your favorite skier can be tricky, especially since you want it to be something they’ll love (and use)! So, if you’re struggling to remember the exact number of shells they own (probably too many) or whether they wax their own skis, you may want to pivot your gift ideas from on the mountain to inside the house. Because, let’s face it, nothing makes a return from the slopes cozier than charming ski-themed housewear.

Mark and Grahm Ski Goggle Ceramic Catchall ($39)

This is the perfect item for the skier who is always misplacing their rings, bracelets, or just about any other small item. It’s a subtle decorative piece to tie together any nightstand or dresser without being too in your face, so it’s perfect to match seamlessly with any style room. Best of all, the item can be personalized with an initial and comes in two styles, so your giftee or giftees will always have a personal touch for their knickknacks!

Owala 40 Oz Tumbler ($39.99)

The secret is out…staying hydrated is trendy! Ensure your skier is feeling their best by gifting them a tumbler that will almost definitely get them to drink more water. There are plenty of similar products out on the market at various price points, but we chose the Owala because it is 100% spillproof (so don’t worry about spilling it all over your blanket during an apres fireside chat), and it comes in a multitude of colors. Staying hydrated while skiing is endlessly important (and often difficult to do), and the Owala tumbler makes it just as easy as ripping apres beers.

Ski Bum & Crew Candle ($22-$28)

We couldn’t put a gift guide together without mentioning at least one candle, and the Ski Bum candle is the new favorite for a reason. They offer a variety of mountain candles, each with two style options: classic or retro (shown above). The candles come in your choice of scent, either vanilla or cinnamon, and the company is a duo of POC Women. Each candle is made with organic soy wax, and the packaging and materials are all eco-friendly. With each light of the candle, your giftee will appreciate the gift that keeps giving!

Mark and Grahm Gondola Ceramic Mug ($33 for one)

We’re pretty confident that drinking a morning beverage out of a gondola-shaped mug will make your day better and probably make you a better skier. These mugs are the perfect addition to a chalet kitchen and are both microwavable and dishwasher-safe. They can hold up to 32 ounces of whatever warm drink you need to get you through your day, or can also be used as a planter for a little kitchen plant. Gondola mugs come individually or in a set and can be monogrammed with up to two initials for your giftee.

Nothing screams aesthetically pleasing more than an Assouline coffee table book. We couldn’t help but gawk over the shiny photos of Aspen in all its glory, from the retro neon ski suits to the modern day. The book looks great just about anywhere, and the viral cover will instantly attract attention. If you’re not looking to spend $105, another cost-friendlier option is The Stylish Life: Skiing, retailing for about $55 and is chock full of dreamy photos of skiing and ski style throughout the decades.

If a cozy cabin is your giftee’s vibe, a hooked wool pillow is the perfect gift! This is one of those “I love it but wouldn’t buy it for myself” gifts. A hooked wool pillow is a quintessential winter-esque look with endless possibilities for design. From custom pillows to designs repping a favorite mountain or even a state, there is something for even the most difficult to shop for recipient. Chandler 4 Corners is a family business that makes everything handmade from their Vermont workshop.
