Best of the Rest from Day 1 in Spokane

Feb. 28—Day 1 in Spokane is in the books, and three area teams punched their tickets to the quarterfinals with wins on Wednesday.

The Rainier and Mossyrock girls were eliminated, but five area teams — the Napavine boys and girls, the Adna boys and girls, and the Mossyrock boys — are set to begin play in the eight-team, double-elimination tournament beginning on Thursday.

Before we fully turn the page to Thursday, let's take a quick look at some other notables from the first day in Spokane.
