Michigan basketball and Purdue aren’t exactly rivals on the hardwood, but they aren’t exactly friends either.
The college basketball world, at large, outside of West Lafayette is having a glorious time on Friday night, rejoicing at seeing the top-seeded Boilermakers go down to 16th-seeded Fairleigh Dickinson in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament — the second time a 1 has lost to a 16.
While it may be something of a stain on the Big Ten given that Purdue were both regular season and conference tournament champion, that all goes out the window for one night, as fans celebrate the glorious history made with a huge upset by this year’s ultimate Cinderella.
