March Madness has lived up to its name through the first weekend.
The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament saw a 16-seed knocking out a No. 1 seed for the second time in history, while Princeton advanced to the Sweet 16 as a No. 15 seed.
But what about how each conference has done with the bids they’ve received?
Among the top power conferences for men’s basketball, the SEC has the most wins through two rounds while the Big East has the best winning percentage.
The smaller one-bid leagues have made their presence felt, too.
On the flip side, Purdue’s first-round exit as a No. 1 seed at the hands of Farleigh Dickinson was indicative of how the Big Ten has struggled. The league boasts the worst record among Power 5 conferences, with only one team — Michigan State — advancing to the Sweet 16 from its eight bids.
