Best Bets: Super Bowl LVI Winner

FRANK SCHWAB : I'm Yahoo Sports senior NFL writer Frank Schwab, and here are my three best bets for the Super Bowl LVI champion. Number 3 I really like the 49ers it's at 12 to 1. It's rare for a rookie quarterback to go that far in the playoffs, but I think Trey Lance is special. I think he fits Kyle Shanahan's offense really, really well.
The 49ers are going to be getting a lot of guys back from injury. They had a lot of COVID issues last year. What we saw from the 49ers last year is not who the 49ers really are, and I think they want to get back to the Super Bowl like they were two years ago and maybe finish the deal. 12 to 1 odds are very enticing for them.
Coming in at number 2, the Buffalo Bills at 14 to 1. I'm a little bit of a sucker for teams trying to get over the hump after a tough playoff loss, but I really believe in this Bills team. Last year they were great down the stretch. You could see they were an ascending team with Josh Allen at quarterback. They just tripped up against the Chiefs and AFC Championship game.
That might have been an experience issue. I think they're going to learn from that. They obviously have the talent to make a deep run, and maybe this is the year they go all the way. Certainly 14 to 1 odds, they're looking pretty good.
And my number 1 bet to win Super Bowl LVI? the Los Angeles Chargers. I tried to go a little deeper in the odds here. They're 35 to 1, and I think there's value there. Look, the Chargers have disappointed us before, but Justin Herbert is a game changer for that franchise.
Last year's Rookie of the Year was tremendous, and I think it could be even better this year. If he takes another step, there's obviously talent all around the roster. There has been four years. They just haven't been able to break through.
This could be the year, even with the Chiefs in their own division. It's a talented team. There's not a lot of pressure on them because the Chiefs are the favorite in that division, and I think that could work in their favor.
