Berks high school sports honor roll: January 29, 2024

Jan. 28—Boys basketball

Berks Catholic senior Parker Nein scored a career-high 30 points to lead the undefeated Saints to a 67-61 win over York Catholic. Nein also scored 23 points in Berks Catholic's 64-48 victory over Twin Valley, 11 points in its 52-40 win over Wyomissing and 27 points in its 61-59 win over Reading High.

Girls basketball

Brandywine Heights junior Addison Benner had a season-high 23 points in the Bullets' 56-17 win over Kutztown before scoring 10 points in a 40-18 victory over Tulpehocken.

Boys bowling

Schuylkill Valley senior Evan Walsh rolled a 661 series in the Panthers' 3-0 win over Wyomissing before rolling a 612 series in a 3-0 victory over Oley Valley.

Girls bowling

Hamburg senior Makaylah Ammon rolled a 551 series in a 3-0 win over Reading High, a 554 series in a 3-0 victory over Conrad Wesier and a 565 series in the Hawks' 3-0 win over Antietam.

Boys swimming

Wilson senior Thomas Houck won the 100 fly with a time of 55.92 seconds in the Bulldogs' victory over Reading High before winning the 100 free with a time of 47.25 seconds in a victory over Emmaus.

Girls swimming

Gov. Mifflin senior Hailey Webster won the 100 free with a time of 57.16 seconds and the 200 IM with a time of 2:25.26 in the Mustangs' victory over Reading High.

Girls wrestling

Brandywine Heights senior Ashley Nace pinned her opponent in 1:16 at 124 pounds to lead the Bullets to a 30-27 win over Schuylkill Valley.

Boys wrestling

Wilson senior Ryan McMillan pinned his opponent in 22 seconds at 215 pounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 44-19 win over Berks Catholic in the Berks team final.
