Bengals to host Packers for joint practice before preseason opener

The Green Bay Packers will participate in a joint practice with the Cincinnati Bengals before the preseason opener in Cincinnati in August.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor shared the news in a press conference on Tuesday.

Taylor said the two teams will have a joint practice on Wednesday, rest on Thursday and then play a preseason game together on Friday.

The Packers are scheduled to open preseason play against the Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Aug. 11.

Taylor previously worked with Matt LaFleur and Joe Barry in Los Angeles, providing familiarity between coaching staffs in terms of putting together the joint practice.

The Packers will also host the New England Patriots for what will likely be a pair of joint practices before Green Bay’s preseason home opener a week later.

While Aaron Rodgers wasn’t a fan of joint practices, LaFleur is taking full advantage of the chance to give his young football team as many competitive opportunities as possible this summer.
