Is this the year the Cincinnati Bengals make a change at kicker?

With Randy Bullock slated for free agency, it certainly makes sense for the Bengals to have an interest in kicking prospects ahead of the 2021 NFL draft.

According to The Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Bengals are one of many teams that have put work in on Florida kicker Evan McPherson.

McPherson had a stellar career with the Gators, hitting all but one of his 150 extra-point attempts and going 51-of-60 on field-goal attempts, including a 5-of-8 mark from 50-plus yards.

This development comes after Bullock struggled a bit over 12 games in 2020, going 21-of-26, missing two of his 10 tries in the 30-39 range and missing an extra point before getting benched in favor of Austin Seibert (who went 6-of-8).

It would make sense for the Bengals to tab kicker as a position slated to join the youth movement across the roster and investing a later-round pick to grab the draft’s best kicker is a possible way to lock up the position for five or more years.
