Bengals claim former Seahawks CB Tre Flowers on waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals added to the cornerback room on Thursday ahead of a Week 6 game against the Detroit Lions by claiming Tre Flowers on waivers.

Flowers, a fifth-round pick by Seattle in 2018, was cut by the Seahawks after he requested his release. According to PFF, he had let up 14 catches on 16 targets for a 52.9 grade.

Cincinnati makes the move while trying to cobble together better depth now that Trae Wayes is on injured reserve again and Darius Phillips has been dealing with an injury.

While Flowers has 40 starts over four seasons, this is an end-of-roster move as the team looks for a fourth or fifth corner behind the likes of Phillips and Eli Apple.
