Simmons’ MRI reportedly comes back clean
Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported from inside the bubble that Simmons wasn’t experiencing swelling or pain. He was seen in street clothes walking with a limp but without crutches or assistance toward the end of the game.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania later reported that his MRI came back clean. Simmons is dealing with a left knee subluxation, according to Charania. The team is considering treatment options.
He appeared to tweak his knee when gathering an offensive rebound with 5:52 remaining in the third quarter.
Philadelphia trailed 62-60 when Simmons injured his knee but rallied for a 107-98 win.
Simmons, 23, is in the midst of his second straight All-Star season with the 76ers, averaging 16.6 points, 8.1 assists and 7.6 rebounds.
The 76ers finished Wednesday’s game in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Indiana Pacers by one game in the standings. They hold an 8.5-game lead over the seventh-place Brooklyn Nets with five games remaining on the schedule.
