Ben Simmons closes out 2020 with a 3 originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

We all have New Year's resolutions. Maybe Ben Simmons is getting to his a day early.

Early in the first quarter Thursday against the Magic, Simmons took a feed from Joel Embiid on the right wing and stepped into the corner. Without hesitation, Simmons stroked a three-pointer and drilled it.

Just like we all drew it up in our head.

It's the first for Simmons this season, and his first make in 380 days. His last made three was last Dec. 7 against the Cavaliers in a game the Sixers won by 47 points.

The shot seemed to energize the team, beginning a 25-8 run that turned a 9-9 tie into a 34-17 lead.

We all hope 2021 goes better than 2020. Maybe Simmons' three is a sign.
