Bemidji State to induct 8 new members, 1 team into Athletics Hall of Fame

Jan. 14—BEMIDJI — Bemidji State will induct eight new individual members and one team into its Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, Jan. 22, in Bemidji. The new members will be honored during a banquet held at 10 a.m. in the Beaux Arts Ballroom on campus.

The inductees include Mike Alexander (1982-86, men's hockey); Amber Fryklund (2000-03, women's hockey); Joel Olander (1977-81, swimming and diving); Cristy Risberg (1993-96, track and field) and Matt Wellumson (1981, 1983, 1985-86, football).

Jerry Lano will enter the hall via the Alumni Coaching Achievement Award, while Craig Hougen (track and field 1978-79, 1989-2015; football 1989-96) is the BSU Coaches Hall of Fame Inductee.

The 2000 men's indoor track and field team will enter as the BSU Athletic Team Inductee, and Frederick Baker will enter as the John S. Glas Honorary Letter Winner.
