Bemidji State ends scoring drought, Gophers battle back to earn sweep

Jan. 20—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji State women's hockey team scored its first goal in 2024 and had a lead over No. 4/5 Minnesota on Saturday afternoon at the Sanford Center.

The Gophers tied the game late in the second period, then scored twice more to come away with a 3-1 win and a series sweep.

Khloe Lund scored the game's first goal 7:12 into the first period to give BSU a 1-0 lead. Emma Kreisz and Ava Lindsay scored power-play goals in the second and third periods to put the U of M in front. Josefin Bouveng's second goal in as many games came with 5:43 left in regulation.

Eva Filippova made a good case for picking up a WCHA weekly award. The Bemidji State freshman goaltender stopped 31 shots on Saturday and collected 67 saves on the weekend. Skylar Vetter made 24 saves for Minnesota.
