Bemidji State drops 5th straight at No. 19 Minot State

Feb. 1—MINOT, N.D. — The Bemidji State men's basketball team was close to picking up a ranked win, but the Beavers fell just short on Thursday in Minot, N.D.

Playing without forward John Sutherland, who was out with an illness, BSU battled No. 19 Minot State to the end in a 62-58 defeat.

Bemidji State (10-11, 6-9 NSIC) was within one possession late but was unable to surmount MiSU's slim lead. Minot State (17-4, 12-3 NSIC) held on down the stretch to send BSU to its fifth consecutive loss in conference play.

Dalton Albrecht stepped up in Sutherland's absence, leading Bemidji State with 23 points. BJ Davis, Tate Olson and Brayden Williams each chipped in eight.

Jalen Cook led Minot State with 17 points, followed by Khari Broadway with 13.
