Bellator 296 weigh-in results: One fight canceled, lightweight grand prix quarterfinal official

The weigh-ins for Bellator’s latest trip overseas are in the books.

In the middleweight main event, former champion Gegard Mousasi (49-8-2 MMA, 7-2 BMMA) takes on Fabian Edwards (11-2 MMA, 7-2 BMMA). Mousasi came in at 185.6 pounds, and his opponent Edwards came slightly under the middleweight mark at 184.8.

In the co-feature, Mansour Barnaoui (20-4 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) meets former lightweight champion Brent Primus (11-3 MMA, 9-3 BMMA) in a quarterfinal fight in Bellator’s ongoing $1 million grand prix. Both men came under the lightweight limit, and successfully weighed in at 154.6 pounds.

One prelim fight was scrapped after Steven Hill weighed in at 174.8 pounds for his fight against Nicolo Solli – 3.8 pounds over the welterweight non-title bout limit. Solli weighed in at 170.8.

The weigh-ins took place at the Bellator host hotel in Paris. The nearby Accor Arena hosts Friday’s event, which has a main card on Showtime following prelims on MMA Junkie.
