2016 Recap

Like many other players on defense for the Beavers, Failauga struggled staying healthy in 2016. His lower leg injury limited him to just six total games, and because of that injury he wasn’t able to settle into a groove in his new hybrid linebacker position.

2017 Outlook

For the third time in three years, Failauga is moving to another position. This time, he is moving back to the defensive line after spending last season as a hybrid linebacker. This is his final season at OSU, and if he is going to make an impact as a Beaver, it’s going to have to be this season. There is a lot of uncertainty on the defensive line in terms of set in stone starters, and if Failauga could step in and lock down a DE spot, it would go a long way for his confidence. He plays with a big motor every play and has a high football IQ ,and I believe he will go out with a bang in 2017.

Greaves' take on Failauga

For each player in the BeaversEdge Top 20, Marcus Greaves will provide analysis of each player. Greaves played for the Beavers from 2014-2017 and has joined BeaversEdge.com as a football analyst.

Titus stands at 6’3 and weighs around 260-270 - very intimidating. We have seen Titus make some noise vs Idaho State State, recovering a fumble and getting two sacks as well. He can meet linemen head on and most of the time overpower them. He's truly an anchor on the defense. Suffering an injury last season held him back from a number of games and seemed to slow his game down. If he can overcome the injury, he can be an all conference caliber guy. But, only if he can really come back 100% for the season.
