Bears WR DJ Moore believes he can help elevate everyone around him

It’s been a busy offseason for the Chicago Bears so far. But the team’s most impactful addition was wide receiver DJ Moore, acquired in a trade with the Carolina Panthers for the No. 1 pick.

Moore gives quarterback Justin Fields a bonafide No. 1 wide receiver that he’s lacked, and it’s clear general manager Ryan Poles is putting Fields in a position to succeed heading into a pivotal Year 3.

Moore has thrived despite lackluster quarterback play. He’s tallied three seasons with 1,100-plus receiving yards in his first seasons. Now, he gets a chance to work with an up-and-coming star quarterback in Fields.

Moore believes that he and Fields can help make each other better. He’s also confident he can help elevate others around him and help this offense soar.

“I think everybody’s level could reach a new level here now that I’m here,” Moore said. “I was talking to Mooney, we were talking about being together with Chase, me and him. How it’s going to elevate the offense and elevate Justin at the same time.

“Because I’m not here just to be like, just a bright light. I’m here to just make everybody around me better and we just want to try to go get some wins.”

When Poles was negotiating the trade for the No. 1 pick with the Panthers, he made it clear that Moore had to be part of deal. That tells you how much Poles values Moore and how he believes Moore can help improve this team.

“The way that we got me here was to better the franchise,” Moore said. “So that’s what I’m here to do. I’m going to put my head down and work hard every day and just go from there.”
