So much for free-agent signing Artie Burns starting at cornerback for the Bears in 2020. According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the former first-round pick tore his ACL during Tuesday's training camp practice.

Burns' injury clears a path to the starting lineup for second-round pick, Jaylon Johnson. He'll have to leapfrog Kevin Toliver II, but Johnson's draft pedigree and overall skill set should give him the edge by the time Week 1 rolls around.
Burns, who was the 25th overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, signed a one-year contract with the Bears this offseason.
