Bears reportedly leaning toward not extending Mitch Trubisky's 5th-year option

Here's a little news that we all probably knew already but is engaging nonetheless:

Honestly, the most interesting part about these tweets are the quotations put around "open competition," which seems to indicate that Schefter has also heard that the competition isn't actually that open. Both Kyle Long and Prince Amukamara have made similar comments about the starting QB job in recent days, and it's widely considered to be Foles' job to lose this summer.

All signs point to Trubisky being QB2 this year, and then looking for a job elsewhere after the 2020 season. We'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out, even though we all kind of know how it's going to play out.
