Battle of Gettysburg is topic of next 'Insights in History' at The History Museum

SOUTH BEND — The History Museum presents “Insights in History — The Battle of Gettysburg” at 1:30 p.m. July 5 at 808 W. Washington St.

Archivist Travis Childs chronicles the Battle of Gettysburg, which took place July 1 to 3, 1863, in south central Pennsylvania. Known as the turning point of the Civil War, the three-day battle claimed more than 50,000 lives.

A tour of the exhibit “Turning Point: The Battle of Gettysburg” also will be offered.

Admission is $3. Reservations are required by July 3.
