Feb. 7—The Lady Chicks were dominant.
On a night Chickasha honored its seniors, the Lady Chicks wanted to pick up a win against Bridge Creek on Tuesday. They certainly did that, and they did so with a dominant performance.
Behind a trio of double-digit scorers and two players with at least 20 points, the Lady Chicks rolled to a 64-36 victory in Chickasha. The trio of double-digit scorers combined to score 55 of the team's 64 points.
The Lady Chicks were clicking throughout the game, especially on offense. That offense scored 16 points or more in each of the first three quarters and scored 20 points or more in two quarters to help control the game.
Serenity Golightly made up a third of the trio and helped the Lady Chicks build their lead in the first quarter. Golightly hit two of her five 3-pointers and scored eight of her 23 points in the period to help Chickasha build a 16-4 lead over the Lady Bobcats.
Golightly's two first-quarter 3s came in an 8-0 run that put Chickasha ahead 10-1, and the Lady Chicks finished the period on a 14-3 run.
And Chickasha's lead continued to grow in the second quarter, thanks to the help of a 13-0 run that included two more 3-pointers from Golightly and a 3-pointer from Addison Ferguson. With time running out in the half, Mea Ginn buried a 3-pointer to give Chickasha a 36-10 lead at halftime.
Ginn made up another third of Chickasha's dominant trio, putting up 20 points for the Lady Chicks. Ginn went 7 for 7 on free throws and scored a majority of her points in the second half.
And the final third of that dominant trio was Justice Miracle. Miracle proved to be a force on the inside for the Lady Chicks, and she ended the game with 12 points.
Ferguson and Carley Ryans made up Chickasha's other nine points.
The win was also Chickasha's second win in a row after the Lady Chicks picked up a tough win on the road last week. Chickasha went to Cache and walked away with a 36-34 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
