BASKETBALL: Grady County All-Conference boys selections announced

Apr. 5—Area boys basketball programs got recognized.

The Grady County All-Conference selections were released and honored boys basketball programs from across the area. Of the six schools to receive recognition, three schools had three selections.

Ninnekah earned a sweep of MVP and Coach of the Year as part of its three selections. Minco and Amber-Pocasset also had three selections each, and schools like Verden, Dibble and Alex each had one selection.

MVP/Coach of the Year

It was a special season for the Ninnekah Owls that featured an accomplishment that the program had not done in some time. For the first time in a long time, Ninnekah won a Grady County Tournament title.

JJ Jerdee has been a playmaker for the Owls during his entire Ninnekah career. And his senior season was another special one.

Jerdee passed 1,500 points for his career and earned the honor of being the conference's MVP. He has been named the MVP of the conference multiple times in his career.

Leading the way for the Owls was the conference's Coach of the Year. Ninnekah head coach Wes Pulliam captured that honor.

First team

Minco and Am-Po each had two players earn first-team recognition.

Reed McMurtrey and Ashton Taylor took up two spots from Minco. Ian Guthrie and Avery McComas captured two spots from Am-Po.

Verden's Ryder Choat took up the other spot.

Second team

Five schools had representation on the second team. Alex, Dibble, Ninnekah, Am-Po and Minco all earned second-team recognition.

Eli Brake (Ninnekah), Caiden Brown (Minco) and Lawson Braden (Am-Po) rounded out the teams' three selections. Dibble's Luke Blanchard and Alex's Kyler Boatwright made up the rest of the team.
