Basketball: Brook Hill girls' season ends with loss in regional finals

Feb. 26—KEMP — A remarkable season came to a close Saturday afternoon for The Brook Hill School girl's basketball team when the Lady Guard lost 54-45 to Arlington Grace Prep in a Texas Association of Private and Parochial School's Division 4 Regional Final.

The game was played at Kemp High School.

Brook Hill, the District 2 runner-up, finished its season with a 28-9 record while the Lady Lions (26-7), the District 1 champions, will advance to face Fort Worth Lake Country Christian on Thursday at Waco-University High School, in a state semi-final contest.

Brook Hill fell behind early against Grace Prep. The Lady Guard trailed 28-9 after one quarter of play and 39-23 to start the third stanza.

Savannah Onley led Brook Hill in scoring by dropping in 17 points and Breanna Hill finished with nine points.

With the entire starting lineup due, plus several key reserves, set to return next season, the future looks promising for the Lady Guard.
