Baseball: Diboll scores 5 late runs to surpass Rusk, 11-6

Feb. 29—NACOGDOCHES — With the game knotted 6-6, Diboll plated five men in the bottom of the fifth and final inning (tournament time limit), to defeat Rusk, 11-6, early Thursday morning in the Nacogdoches Dragon Baseball Tournament.

Rusk outhit the Lumberjacks, 10-9.

Ross Davis went 3-3 at the plate, which included a pair of doubles,to pace the Eagles at the plate.

Also having a multi-hit game were Alex Patterson (2-3, double, 2 RBI) and Mason Trowbridge (2-4, two doubles, RBI).

Nash Acker went 1-3 and tallied two RBI while Karson King laced a run-scoring double.

Rusk (3-4-1) will take on Tatum at 1:30 p.m. Friday and go up against Spring Hill at 3:45 p.m.

The Lumberjacks (6-1) continued their hot start to the season.
