BASEBALL: Bryan delivers special performance against Cache

Mar. 26—Special might not do Layton Bryan's performance justice as a description.

The Chickasha junior stepped up in a dominant 13-0 road victory over the Cache Bulldogs in District 4A-4 action Tuesday. And he was dominant on the bump and at the plate.

The junior went 4 for 4 at the plate and had three RBIs in the team's win that also completed a district sweep for the Fightin' Chicks. Chickasha defeated Cache 11-1 the day before.

But it was the pitching performance that made the game even more special. The Bulldogs struggled to put the ball in play, especially on outs.

In fact, the junior collected all the outs one way.

Bryan pitched all seven innings for the Fightin' Chicks and ended the game with 21 strikeouts. That number is important because that means that every out came via a Bryan strikeout.

The performance helped Chickasha remain unbeaten in district play.
