Baseball: Brook Hill blanks Dallas Shelton 7-0 to open district

Mar. 15—BULLARD — Ben Braatz and Luke Visser combined for a 2-hitter as Brook Hill successfully commenced conference play Thursday afternoon by sinking Dallas-Shelton School, 7-0, in Bullard.

The two clubs are scheduled to meet at Shelton's home field at 4 p.m. Friday where Brook Hill will go for its eighth-straight victory..

Braatz pitched six strong frames, giving up two hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Visser pitched a clean seventh inning.

Tommy Hilliard had a big day at the plate for the Guard (7-1, 1-0). He went 2-3 and drove in a run.

Lex Rich added a single and two RBI and Braatz helped his own cause by driving in two runs while going 1-2 with the bat.

Braxton Durrett singles and drove in a run and Blake Whitten had the Guard's only extra-base hit, a double.

Shelton's record now stands 6-3-2, 0-1.
