Bark at the Park, Joe Mauer Hall of Fame celebration among highlights of Twins’ promo schedule

For the first time ever, Twins fans can bring their canine companions with them to take in a ballgame at Target Field. Bark at the Park, which will be held on April 22, is one of the highlights of the 2024 promotional schedule the Twins released on Thursday morning.

It’s one of 30 theme nights the Twins will hold during the upcoming season. Other new nights include Bowlers’ Day on May 25, when fans will receive a Twins bowling shirt; Hello Kitty Day on May 26, when fans will get a Hello Kitty 50th anniversary light-up bobblehead, and Pickleball Night, whne the Twins will give away a branded paddle and cover.

Returning theme nights include Star Wars Night (May 24), Pride Day (June 15), Harry Potter Night (Aug. 9) and a host of others, including the Colleges and Universities Series, which accounts for 12 of the 30 dates.

On Aug. 3, the Twins will celebrate Joe Mauer’s entry into the Baseball Hall of Fame and will give away replica Hall of Fame plaques to the first 10,000 fans through the gates. Mauer, who was elected in January on the first ballot, will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on July 21.

A week later, the Twins will hold their own Hall of Fame induction ceremony, honoring longtime general manager Terry Ryan and coach Rick Stelmaszek. The next day, the Twins will have a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the 1924 World Series-winning Washington Senators.

The Twins also will have a number of player-related giveaways, including a Jhoan Duran bobblehead celebrating his high-wattage bullpen entrance (May 25) and a Pablo López bobblehead (July 6). On July 20, the Twins will give away a Royce Lewis replica bat, and on Aug. 24, fans can snag a Carlos Correa replica jersey. Young Twins fans can also receive a Joe Ryan replica jersey on July 7.

The Twins have one postgame concert this year — Flo Rida — set for June 14.
