Not everyone is a gym person, and that’s totally cool. But if you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to be more active and get in shape, you can start by making a few small changes at home. For example, go on a “hot girl walk” once a day, take the stairs over the elevator, or even wear small wrist weights while doing your everyday chores.

Yes, Bala Bangles, the 1-pound wrist and ankle weights, can be worn while you clean your house or walk your dog, and they’ll help you get stronger without you really even trying.

But these aren’t your standard weights. Bala Bangles aren’t bulky like some ankle weights — they’re actually kind of fashionable.

“Bala Bangles add a constant but comfortable resistance to your workout. Wildy versatile, they can be worn on wrists or ankles for training and recreational activities alike,” the brand’s product description reads.

The weights come in a set of two — 1-pound each — and they come in several colors. Go with a neutral black, white or grey, or standout in pink, sage green or glittery silver.

Light weights can be just as good at helping you build muscle as heavy weights. However, it all comes down to reps or how long your workout is. “Lifting lighter weights many times is as efficient as lifting heavy weights for fewer repetitions,” a study done by McMaster University in 2016 found.

“Fatigue is the great equalizer here,” Stuart Phillips, senior author on the study and professor in the Department of Kinesiology, said in the university’s report. “Lift to the point of exhaustion, and it doesn’t matter whether the weights are heavy or light.”

So truthfully, you’re not going to get totally ripped wearing 1-pound weights while you walk around your house. If you want to build bigger muscles, you’ll need to actually train with these babies on and do a high amount of reps (at least over 12 reps of an exercise). But you’re likely to still feel the burn after a while, no matter what you do with them on.

So go outside for a walk, get your arms pumping and enjoy the fresh air — or multitask with Bala Bangles on to build a stronger you.
