Baker Mayfield to start in Carolina’s preseason opener
The Carolina Panthers announced that Baker Mayfield will start Carolina’s first preseason game on Saturday. The Panthers are set to take on another team with a new quarterback, as they will square off with Carson Wentz and the Washington Commanders.

Mayfield and Sam Darnold are currently the top two options to start for the Panthers. It was recently reported that Mayfield had the inside track to the starting job.
