Baker Mayfield doesn’t practice with new injury, Troy Hill returns

The Cleveland Browns are used to injury concerns this season but that doesn’t make it any easier. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, in particular, has been struggling with injury upon injury. Wednesday, Mayfield added another injury to the list, one related to his groin, while the team removed knee from his list of problems.

For Mayfield, continued lower body issues make things difficult in the Browns offense. With his limitations, bootlegs and rollouts are more difficult while he’s also struggled with planting, rotating and driving the football.

The team got some good news Wednesday with cornerback Troy Hill returning to practice. Hill was taken off the field on a cart during the team’s Week 10 loss to the New England Patriots. Hill was taken to a local medical facility and released the next day.

With Hill on the sideline, Cleveland moved rookie corner Greg Newsome II inside with Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams on the outside.

Mayfield is likely to play on Sunday but Hill’s status, along with those of Kareem Hunt and Jack Conklin, is still up in the air.
