Auburn vs. Mississippi State: How to watch this weekend’s SEC finale
The No. 17 Auburn Tigers (37-15, 13-8 SEC) welcome Mississippi State (27-22, 6-14 SEC) to Jane B. Moore Field for the regular season finale. If you are wondering how to catch the action live, you have come to the right place.
Auburn softball currently sits at the No. 4 spot ahead of next weekend’s SEC Tournament and will need to have a successful weekend against the Bulldogs in order to boost its’ seeding. The best chance for them to climb the standings outside of what they can control is this weekend’s series between No. 12 Arkansas and Missouri.
Both Auburn and Arkansas boast a 13-8 SEC record, but they have not faced each other head-to-head. So it will be important for Auburn to take care of business at home, and to cheer hard for Missouri this weekend to win its series against the Razorbacks.
Looking on paper, the Tigers should take care of the Bulldogs, as they are one step above the last place slot in the SEC. However, Mississippi State is coming off of an impressive sweep of No. 23 Kentucky.
“Last weekend, Mississippi State was playing like their hair was on fire,” head coach Mickey Dean said of Mississippi State. “They were swinging it like crazy. They have proven this year and in the past that they can be a dangerous offensive team. We still have to play our game, study film, and control what we can control. It’s the last weekend. Everyone is going to be fired up. It’s not going to be easy.”
