Auburn one of 11 schools to accomplish three-sport postseason sweep

The Tigers have been proving they deserve to be labeled an “everything” school.

As the Twitter account for Reddit page r/cfb pointed out, Auburn is one of 11 schools to have made the postseason in the three major collegiate sports — football, basketball and baseball. Auburn was one of four SEC teams to accomplish this feat, the other three being Tennessee, LSU and Arkansas.

Auburn baseball is the latest team to make the NCAA postseason. The team has a chance to avenge the other two squads, which generally disappointed in the playoffs. The football team lost in its bowl game to Houston, a group of five team, 17-13, and the basketball team was eliminated a bit earlier than expected by the Miami Hurricanes (who also completed the three-sport sweep) in the NCAA Tournament. The baseball team is hosting a regional in Auburn and will play the Florida State Seminoles, the UCLA Bruins and the Southeastern Louisiana Lions.

The SEC, with four teams, is the conference with the most teams to manage this feat. The ACC is the second most successful team with three (Miami, Virginia Tech and North Carolina) and the Big 10, Big 12, PAC 12 and Independent Schools all have one representative each.
