Auburn could face unfamiliar foe in latest bowl projection

Sure, it’s only week two but that doesn’t mean we can’t look and see where some college football experts have Auburn playing this postseason.

Brett McMurphy, with the Action Network, put out his latest bowl projections and has Auburn playing in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl against the North Carolina Tarheels.

This could be an interesting storyline because the matchup between these two teams was canceled last season due to the SEC and ACC only playing conference games in 2020.

The Gator Bowl is played in Jacksonville Florida. The Action Network predicts that Auburn would be an underdog in this hypothetical.

Auburn’s last appearance in the Gator Bowl was in 1974 when the Tigers beat the Texas Longhorns 27-3.
