MLB Auburn baseball score vs. Penn: Live updates as Tigers begin NCAA Tournament play
AUBURN — The NCAA Tournament is back on the Plains for the second consecutive year.
Auburn baseball welcomes Penn, Samford and Southern Miss to Plainsman Park this weekend for the Auburn Regional. AU's first game will come against the Quakers on Friday (6 p.m. CT, ESPN+). With a win, the Tigers would move on to the winner's bracket and set themselves up nicely for the remainder of the regional. With a loss, they'd be sent into an elimination game scheduled for Saturday.
Coach Butch Thompson led Auburn to five consecutive series victories down the stretch of the regular season to propel the Tigers into the postseason. They ultimately fell to Vanderbilt and Alabama in the SEC Tournament, but not before rattling off nine straight victories from May 6-23.
