Atlanta United D Bello to miss time with new injury

Atlanta United 17-year-old defender George Bello will miss even more time with an injured right adductor that occurred while he was trying to make return from a groin injury.

The latest injury could keep the Atlanta United youngster off the field for as much as three months. He has not seen time in an MLS game this season, but has played in CONCACAF Champions League action, which is when his groin injury occurred in a game against Herediano on Feb. 21.

Bello played three MLS games as a 16-year old last season, scoring a goal in his second career game on Oct. 6 against the New England Revolution. He became the sixth youngest player in MLS history to score a goal.

After winning the MLS Cup title last season, Atlanta United is in a four-way tie for last place in the Eastern Conference with a 2-3-2 record and eight points.

Most of Atlanta United's issues have been on offense, though. They are tied for the MLS lead with just eight goals allowed, but have scored just six times, the lowest total for a team this season.
