Assumption downs Clinton 10-0 in MAC action

Apr. 11—CLINTON — The Clinton River Queens hosted their Mississippi Athletic Conference foe, the Davenport Assumption Knights on Thursday evening.

It was all Knights in this one as they jumped out to a quick lead, scoring six goals throughout the first 29 minutes of action.

With ten minutes to go in the first half, Assumption added to it to make it a seven goal game.

Lennon Riberdy put a shot up that went off the right post but right back into the field of play where she was able to net yet another first half goal.

The Knights were not done in the first half as Anna Dolan and Anna Weiman put this game on ice with goals in the final two minutes of play.

Dru Dorsey led the scoring with three goals while Amalie Yeates added two.

Assumption got the win via the mercy rule to move to 5-0 on the year. Clinton is now 1-3 on the season and will host Pleasant Valley next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
