Arrest warrant issued for Jalen Carter related to crash that killed Georgia teammate, staffer

An arrest warrant has been issued for University of Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter related to his involvement in a crash that killed teammate Devin Willock and Georgia football staffer Chandler LeCroy back in January.

According to the statement from the ACCPD, Carter and LeCroy “were operating their vehicles in a manner consistent with racing” and that “alcohol impairment, racing, reckless driving, and speed were significant contributing factors to the crash.”

According to Emerson, both charges against Carter are misdemeanors.

Carter, who is considered a top prospect in this 2023 NFL draft class and a potential target by the Bears, is at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was scheduled to speak with reporters shortly before this news broke.
