One of the nation’s top recruiting classes has the potential to grow.

Cedrick Baxter Jr., a 2023 four-star running back from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla. recently released his recruiting top-five, and Arkansas makes the cut.

Joining Arkansas are fellow SEC squads in Texas A&M and Florida, as well as Texas and Miami.

According to Andrew Ivans of 247sports, Baxter has the potential to be used as for power, or as a feature back.

Does a nice job of navigating his way through traffic and will use swift little cuts to get around defenders. More than capable of breaking multiple arms tackles and seems to always be falling forward. Top-end speed a bit of a question mark without much track or testing data, but has shown that he can get to the edge and win his fair share of foot races.

During his 11th grade season, Baxter rushed for 1,718 yards and 26 touchdowns on 202 carries. According to 247sports, Baxter has taken two unofficial visits to Arkansas since his recruiting began, with his most recent coming on April 16, the same day as the spring scrimmage.

Baxter is currently rated as a four-star running back. He is currently the No. 2 running back in the nation, and the no. 7 prospect from the state of Florida. Arkansas is anticipating the commitment of another top prospect, as four-star quarterback Malachi Singleton is set to announce his commitment on April 25.
