In the news:

-I guess the refs in the Fairfax/North game last week rewound time to right a wrong. A last-second FG was blocked, and while the ball should have been given back to North to try again (if there was time on the clock), it was given to Fairfax to kneel on and end the game. After some protest, they put time back on the clock, gave North another FG try, and it went in, giving North the victory. I don't have a problem with refs convening and fixing an error- but it does beg the question, what can a ref technically do in that scenario? Go back 3 plays? 10? I think it's behoove the AIA to put out some type of a statement in the event rewinding and replaying becomes a trend.

-Speaking of the AIA- check out the website. It's been redesigned, and while I've hear some complaints, for me personally, it's been much cleaner and easier to navigate. Now that they're paired up with ASU's Journalism School, they're also producing more than double the content they usually do.

-Check this Cronkite News Feature from Rafael Alvarez out. I thought it was a great read: Tupac? Bette Midler? Valley high school pregame football music runs gamut

-And this, from's Greg Hansen: Salpointe's Bijan Robinson leaps and bounds better than the competition

In basketball news, Hillcrest's KJ Hymes (formerly of St. Mary's has committed to Nevada.
