Ariana Grande threw some serious shade as she dropped the follow up to her chart-topping single Thank U, Next.

The US superstar released Imagine on Thursday night, revealing poignant lyrics including: “Imagine a world like that/We could light up ‘til I’m ‘sleep on your chest/Love how my face fits so good in your neck/ Why can't you imagine a world like that?”

Before revealing her new song and lyrics video, Grande appeared to hit out at Kanye West’s ongoing Twitter tirade against Drake .

She also gave a nod to pal Miley Cyrus who also has a new track out.

“Guys, I know there are grown men arguing online rn (right now) but Miley and I dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y'all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that'd be so sick thank u,” she tweeted.

Earlier in the day, Grande confirmed that she would be releasing a “terrifyingly personal” song, branding it a “darker version” of Thank U, Next.

Cyrus has released a cover of John Lennon’s War Is Over, featuring his son with Yoko Ono, Sean Ono Lennon and Mark Ronson.

The new track comes hot on the heels of Cyrus and Ronson’s Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, which was released at the end of November.

Cyrus recently spoke about the song to Graham Norton, revealing that it was the “right time” for the song and the eclectic video about “heartbreaking things in society”.

She said: “It's all about what is heartbreaking to us in society every single day - waking up to the news of violence, judgement and hypocrisy.

“It's about a deeper heartbreak than losing love in a romance or relationship.

“Now is the perfect timing, it's just such a timely song, both for me in my personal life and for what's going on in the world. So, I wouldn't have it any other way.”
