Area baseball roundup: Scotland/Menno Trappers top Hanson-Aurora

May 14—SCOTLAND — Three different players had two hits to power Scotland/Menno to a 3-0 high school baseball win over Hanson-Aurora on Wednesday.

Dawson Bietz, Jordan Gall and Turner Nicholson each had two hits, while Treyton Sayler, Austin Pillsbury and Kadeyn Ulmer each had a hit. Sayler, Gall and Nicholson each drove in runs.

Bietz picked up the win on the mound. He allowed eight hits, zero runs and struck out six batters.

Hanson-Aurora finished with eight hits, including two apiece from Kolby Kayser and Rylee Deinert. Thomas Stange, Daniel Laufman, Blaine Bohr and Mason Hetland each had a hit.

Laufman started the first five innings, finishing with five strikeouts, allowing six hits and one earned run.

Vermillion 3, Parkston/Ethan/Tripp 2

VERMILLION — Vermillion edged Parkston/Ethan/Tripp in prep baseball action on Wednesday.

Vermillion's Connor Saunders and T.J. Tracy posted two hits apiece, while Willis Robertson and Jake Jensen each had a hit.

Jensen earned the win after starting four innings, scattering five hits, allowing two earned runs and striking out two batters. Robertson earned the save after striking out five batters and allowing one hit in three relief innings.

Parkston/Ethan/Tripp's Max Scott and Brayden Jervik had two hits apiece. Isaak Bialas and Logan Heidinger each had a hit. Scott drove in both runs.

Ty Neugebauer was tagged with the loss. He allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out four batters in five innings. Kade Bialas pitched an inning of relief and allowed one hit.
