Jan. 19—January 19, 2012 — Bemidji Mayor Dave Larson delivered the city's annual State of the City address during the regular council meeting Tuesday evening at Bemidji City Hall. Larson said he has enjoyed his first year as Bemidji Mayor and is looking forward to the second year of his two-year term.
January 19, 1997 — Money for snow removal is scarce. In fact, local state Department of Transportation officials are already dipping into funds reserved for spring road repairs, said Steve Baker, district engineer for the northwest Minnesota MnDOT district headquartered in Bemidji.

January 19, 1972 — At the Bemidji St. Philip's School Board meeting on Jan. 11 it was unanimously approved that St. Philip's will continue to operate grades one through eight with the addition of one lay teacher. The school board of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Crookston has accepted a recommendation to close schools in Barnesville and Park Rapids.
January 19, 1922 — Bemidji music fans are excited over the fact that a real grand opera star is to appear in their midst. Miss Sjoselius, who is to sing at the Methodist church Friday night, has never appeared in a city of this size before and probably never will again, so a large audience is expected to take advantage of this opportunity.
