Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.

  2. Cut apples into 1-inch pieces and set aside.

  3. Place a sifter over a mixing bowl and add in flour, baking soda, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon and salt. Sift and set aside.

  4. In a mixing bowl, use a hand mixer to blend butter and sugar together. Add two eggs and blend. Then, add apple sauce and blend.

  5. Combine dry ingredients with the wet and blend together. Then fold in apples with a spoon, making sure to coat every piece with the cake. mixture.

  6. Pour cake mixture into a 9×13 baking dish and bake in the oven for 30–40 minutes.

  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then slice and serve with caramel sauce and powdered sugar.
