Top 25 rankings: Illinois moving up; Michigan in top 5 originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

After a bit of a slide, Illinois is moving north in the AP Top 25 college basketball rankings.

The Illini checked in at No. 19 in the latest poll Monday, up three spots from last week. Fellow Big Ten foes Michigan and Iowa flip-flopped spots, with the Wolverines moving to No. 4. Illinois plays No. 7 Iowa later this week.

Alabama, not a traditional basketball powerhouse, soared into the No. 9 position—up nine spots from last week.

Florida State (No. 16) and Oklahoma (No. 24) were the newcomers to this week’s poll.
