First, Blake Griffin went off the wall during Team USA workouts in the summer of 2012. Then, LeBron James did it as part of a post-practice showcase in Phoenix on Monday. Now, fellow Olympian, All-Star and athletic marvel Anthony Davis is playing wall-ball, and he's windmilling in the process:
Thank you, Pelicans teammate Anthony Morrow, for documenting this important occasion, for remembering to shout "WORLD STAR" as you did so (it's the soundtrack to all important Internet videos, after all) and for getting it on record that the Pelicans' 20-year-old phenom would like to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend. He can't do it in his home city of New Orleans this year — the field's already locked up, headlined by fellow All-Stars Paul George, Damian Lillard and John Wall — but if the folks who organize such things haven't already got A.D.'s name penciled into the 2015 Dunk Contest, then they're doing us all a disservice. (Here's hoping the 'Brow doesn't change his mind between now and next February. We've been hurt too many times before.)
